Seven.One Entertainment invited me to join their internal design team to work on the comprehensive brand redesign of Joyn, the streaming platform of the German TV network ProSiebenSat.1.
Joyn brings together streaming and live television in one place - all for free. The platform offers live TV with more than 100 channels, original and exclusive local content, international movies and series, as well as extensive media libraries featuring Germany’s most popular TV channels on demand.
The objective of the project was to transform Joyn from a multi-brand broadcaster into one strong “super streamer.” Our ambition was to establish Joyn as the single platform users need, clearly communicate what the brand stands for, and sharpen expectations around the Joyn experience. Visually and tonally, the brand was repositioned to be bolder, more confident, and more distinctive, while significantly strengthening brand recognition across all touchpoints.
We developed a new holistic brand design for Joyn, spanning on-air, digital, off-air, app design, merchandising, image, and promotional assets. In parallel, we created a strategic framework to integrate all of the network's TV channels — including ProSieben, Sat.1, Kabel Eins, sixx, ProSieben Maxx, Sat.1 Gold, and Kabel Eins Doku — under the Joyn master brand. This integration was achieved through a unified “One Campaign” design system, which consolidates all advertising and promotional activities of the individual television channels into a coherent, cross-channel visual language. Through this approach, the original linear TV brands were made future-ready for the streaming era, while simultaneously strengthening Joyn as the relevant streaming brand within the ProSiebenSat.1 ecosystem.
